Hi
Can some one tell me at what age should I expect Izzie's first season and are there any signs to look for ie moods ?
She is 26 weeks old today.

They can sometimes be a little crabby...There will be vulva swelling (it will kind of pop out)...She may even drip blood, when it all starts going...

6 to 12 months is kind of the norm...

They can bleed for up to 21 days and still be normal.

My female was 14 months before she had her 1st season and bled for 21 days exactly and you can count 180 days from that date and she is again in season and same 21 days.
Even with this pregnancy she still bled for 21 days which gave me the idea she wasnt pregnant and she carried 11 pups.
I did find when she is ready to be mated she gets a straw coloured discharge for those days and back to bleeding where as this time she had very little after mating.
I also kept my female crated for the first 2 times until I was sure I wanted my dogs to produce puppies.
Less mess and easier to clean although the area is huge it is easily washed with disinfectant and a hose pipe for when you are happy for her to come inside for cuddles and play.
Try and find a old towel or blanket to put under her which can be washed when she lays down inside.
