hey thanks rocky ..and by the way ..the UFA vets a no go , they said they would do it on the phone (remove the cherry eye) then this am tried to pressure me into tacking i said no way ...he said okay he'll remove it , 5 min later i get a call to come get her cause the wont do the removal ...said its "malpractice" OMG...so back down to bridlewood on tuesday ! grrrr.i called every vet in red deer .NO one will remove it ! grrrrrr ~:(


ya i could have told u that, i have called over 50 vets and he is the only one that will do it , and last time ,me and my boy were there the bleeding wouldnt stop , so he had to put him to sleep and then stich it up for the bleeding to stop , he all so said from now on he will put all of them to sleep for it , so let me know if he does or not to your guys ,,

mine are always asleep....always have both cherries "REMOVED" at the same time....a bleeding vein is easily stopped by clamping a forsept to it and twisting around in a 360 about 3 times...done...blood stopped...guess the trick is finding and old school vet thats done thousands of these procedures....its wam bam thank you mame...10 minutes per eye...in and out

it cost me 30 bucks an eye...and the vet comes to my house and i assist every opperation performed on my dogs

hey thanks for the info rocky! Nigel was just sedated but the beleding did stop , i will go ahaed and tell him to just put her out for it!

Wow !! i assume i will be paying a minimum of 300.00 dollars for both last time for Nigel he onley charged me 100.00 for the one eye , but he mentioned he was uping the price . p.s I assisted as well with Nigel.

ya the vet me and mel r talking about is old school , he lets us help , he just frezzes the eye slows the heart ,and a little morfene, out comes the razer ,bin bang boom , hold gaues on it tell bleeding stop's , but it didnt stop last time for 3 hrs so they put him under ,he would rather not put dogs to sleep , for such an easy thing , as cherry eye , but mels boy bleed and so did my last one , so now iam sure he will and yes price will be mosr like 4oo now can u say ouch , but only vet around that will do it , good guy he is thow

Nigel has elbow dysplasia , at 9 months arthritis of the joint has already set in , he is cow hocked on the back end , and has severe carpal vulrus(sp) on the front end (eastie westies)
and is severly roach backed .
the worst is the dysplasia , which is what is causeing him the pain , and which as well may have lead to severe roach back (due to the pain).
its a sad situation.

Mel, you are an amazing lady and example to many. I am so sorry for you both to have been in this situation. Although I am welled with tears I am praying for your courage and strength of heart when the time is right.
