I would be interested to know what all different selection you guys feed as part of a RAW diet and the different prices paid within different countries for them

Please give prices in lbs or kilos

1kilogram = 2.2 lbs

Also what quantities you feed to the size of the mastino

IE how much per day to a 75 kilo male 60 kilo female, pups etc etc

I have been able to join a raw food co-op where I am getting ground beef mixed with tripe at .70 a lb, Chicken legs at .70 a lb, ground organs ( beef heart & tripe) is .70 lb, pork tails .80 lb, chicken necks at .80 lb, chicken backs at .25 lb.

Juni eats about 3 lbs a day. So now I am able to get about 100 lbs a month for around $75 dollars. I do have to drive about 1-1/2 hrs one way to pick up, but even with the price of gas, this is cheaper than shopping at the grocery store.

Hey rocky Global pets has , a great raw line called mountain dog food its realitivley cost effective and comes in a vareity of choices , including breeder packs , ...its between 1.5 .to 1 dollar a pound which is awesome , i had been buying the raw from the store , but it gets pricey ...i give my dogs about 50 50 between kibble and raw , additives i use are pasta rice , and and veggies i have around the house i will throw in , aswell as cheese cottage cheese yorgurt and friut. they have 2 kibble meals , and one raw meal a day , as well as lotsa of marrow bones ect , when its been hot i will give em frozen chicken legs i didp them in yourgurt and then freeze them individualy , "pupsicles"

We get a 40 pound case of chicken backs for $14 from Pat's sister's restaurant. We get beef "free" from the farm so I don't know prices for that, and also Pat hunts deer, so that only costs us the price of his tag. If something is on sale at the store, that's what we pick up for variety. Zelda eats about 4-5 pounds of meat per day. She has gone through a couple cows already!

Here is the info we got from Shannon Reed when Zelda was a puppy, and it is working beautifully for us....

Chicken backs are okay but have a high bone content so not very meaty--same with necks. If at all possible whole chicken fed over multiple days is better. A whole chicken has the appropriate balance of meat, bone and fat, so you get that balance over time. I usually quarter a chicken and a puppy will eat the whole thing over 3 or 4 days.

Variety is also key to balancing. Venison is one of my favorite meats to feed. If you are buying venison it is probably pretty lean. If you are processing your own deer there is plenty of fat there.

Eggs are great for adding balance also. An egg is considered completely balanced if you feed the whole thing including the shell. I drop a few eggs and shell in the blender a few time a week and dump it over their food. All the fat is in the yolk so adding just that to a lean meal helps.

I would also make sure you are adding some organ meats a couple times a week. I feed liver.

Tripe is great if you have access to any. I feed tripe 2 times a week. Click This Link
The tripe sold for human consumption has been washed of all its nutritional value so don't feed that.

Fish is great. I keep canned mackeral on hand and feed that when I forget to thaw meat. We also feed tilapia, sardines... Not sure where you are located but do not feed raw pacific salmon(atlantic is okay), which has a parasite deadly to dogs.

i basically feed a base meat(chicken or venison) everyday and then add my variety the other meals. if pork is on sale they get pork, if beef os on sale they get beef...

Here is a website that has some great easy information Click This Link

i don't feed my puppies any different than my adult dogs except for amount (puppies 3lbs/day adult dogs 4-5lbs/day).

The following are some examples of meals we have been feeding.

Day 1

6am--chicken parts to equal 1lb

12pm--1lb ground venison+yogurt, kelp, vit c, cod liver oil

6pm--Beef Rib with bone to equal 1 lb (bone is not consumable)

Day 2

6am--1lb whole venison steak/roast

12pm--1lb tripe+yogurt, kelp, vit c, cod liver oil

6pm--whole turkey neck

Day 3

6am--chicken parts to equal 1 lb

12pm--1 lb ground beef+yogurt, kelp, vit c, cod liver oil

6pm--1 lb pork rib with bone(bone is not consumable)

Day 4

6am--chicken parts to equal 1 lb

12pm--beef/chicken liver, 3 eggs scrambled/ raw with shell+yogurt, kelp, vit c, cod liver oil

6pm--1lb whole beef (steak, roast...)
