 | Juni weighs n right now about 120 lb. She might weigh more but I haven't gotten her onto a scale lately. I would love to feed deer and rabbit. But unless I can find a local hunter, not much luck getting it here in MA. I personally feel that there is no need to feed veggies or carb's to a dog... but I have been known to give brown rice,. white rice and barley cooked with chicken liver. I tried veggies when I first started feeding raw, but unless you process them, which I didn't, my dogs just ate around them. Takes a lot of talent to eat around peas and carrots. Sweet potato was one of Jakes favorite treats. raw or cooked. Never figured that one out. Great menu Aurda. Does your gang eat whatever is in their bowl? I found that Jake and Juni have their favorites and if they didn't get it when they expected it, they wouldn't eat. Took a couple of offerings before they decided it was better than going hungry.  | Feeding raw to puppies is just fine-don't cook it I'm not sure what Nikki does for really little puppies, but I know Shannon makes a sort of "baby food" mush of all the same stuff the big dogs get. We got Zelda at eight weeks, and she was chomping up the raw chicken and she especially loved the yogurt we put her vitamins (and any meds-she had a bladder infection once). Try it, they'll like it. Rocky try and find a slaughter house in your area, not sure if your in a bigger town or a smaller one, our processing shop is small town and they just let us go and get what we want, they dont care because all the stuff that gets cut off just goes to the dump, they figure if we take it then they have a lighter load  Only bad thing is seeing what is in the cold shed, normal stuff like meat scraps and bones, to a tad more disgusting like internal organs, the thing that really gross's me out is the heads ! I think the guy has fun with the heads cause he always places them where we will see them right off, or for a twist hides them under a layer of fat scraps......I think it is the blank stare the head has lol like they are not really sure what happend but dont like whatever did happen. Word for the wise, ask when slaughter day is, we dont go anywhere near the place on weds and thurs, did that once and seriously thought about kicking the meat habit lol Heidi | ||||
