hearts livers all body meat you can get

i dunno about the bones from the lambs but really only the ribs from the buffalo and let them chew the flesh off the other bones but i belive they are too hard for the teeth.

i am judging buffalo being similar to a cow so correct me anyone if you want

My dogs get meat and meaty bones mainly. Whole chickens or chicken parts (the favorite and fed most often), beef shoulders, roasts, burger (we buy a whole cow every year and share with the dogs), leg of lamb (bones is to hard and is taken away when the meat is gone), liver, heart, kidney, eggs. I also use an Honest Kitchen product called Embark which is dehydrated raw turkey with veggies and fruits. I usually add a small amount to their evening meal or use it in a pinch when traveling. My neos didn't like veggies but my Mastiff will eat anything at all - bananas, zucchini, carrots, peppers, radishes, apples, yogurt, whatever - he's not fussy. My dogs all have lovely soft fur and white teeth. Very few health problems (except for Zander) and they relish their meals. I could never go back to kibble. I've been feeding like this for the last 4-5 years.

Dog bless,
McK

Izzie is now almost a week into raw feed.At the moment I am still mixing it in with her butchers tripe but I am gradually taking her off it.
Had to entice her with the raw chicken but once she had a crunch and chew she got the taste for it. I would also say she seems more satisfied and have already noticed there are less poo's in the garden

Rocky, and to all others who will pay attention. This is how I feed 3 large dogs on raw for about $90 a month. I buy 40lbs of chicken part, pre cut for $29, with bones and skin. Red meat, I buy it at Meijer or at Sams Club. They always have ""managers specials"", where the meat is close to its end of saleability, but it won't hurt a dog in any way. Buy Suet as well. Find a place that sells Steel Cut Oates and Finely crushed corn meal and natural brown rice. I buy 15lbs of each, at $.69 a lb. You will need eggs, Kefir(yogurt), and sardines. In a large tupperware, add an equal amount of oates and corn and rice.
Step one:
In 2 large pots, Im talking like 5 gallon pots, fill them up about 3/4 of the way with water, and boil it. Add in 2 tablespoons of oil to each, and a tbsp of butter to each, keeps the oates from sticking to the bottom.
Step 2:
Bring the water back down to a low heat, Add the Otes/Corn/Rice into the pot till you fill the pot about half way.
Step 3:
This will need to cook for about 2 hours, and has to be stirred every 5 minutes or so. PLus, you MUST continuously add water, because if it dries out, you will have some nasty smells going on in your house for a few days.
Step 4:
You can, if your dogs are finicky, pulverize some Spinach or carrots or whatever greens and veggies you want, and add it to the oat gruel.
Step 5:
You will know this is done when the rice falls apart when you touch it and the rest of it looks like oatmeal that has been cooked a bit too long. Take what you will need for a week and put into a large tupperware and put it into the fridge. Make sure to put the rest into the freezer. Or, you can go through the tedious task of right then and there individually making daily portions and putting them into sandwich bags and freezing them, thawing them the night before.

FEEDING
I feed my dogs like this. IF I am using chicken, they each get 1 leg, 1 wing and 1 back, cut into 2 pieces each BONE IN. I add in about 5 or 6 over flowing TBSP of the oat gruel, I then add in 1 egg WITH the shell, chop up SUET( each dog gets about a piece of suet 3inch by 3 inch chopped up), I then mix that all together. Then, on top of that, I throw on about 2 tbsp of Yogurt or Kefir, and then mix again. I have been known to add italian or french bread to the mix. Also, 1 day a week, give the Sardines in WATER. It helps their coat RIDICULOUSY, plus the oil in the fish is good. IF i am using RED MEAT, each dog gets about 10 pieces of red meat, in 1.5inch by 1.5inch cubes. The rest stays the same. I alternate chicken and red meat as it is good for dogs to get a bit of variety in their diet, cuz theyd get it in the wild. If i feed red meat, then I also give them bones afterwards, ANY un-cooked bones, so long as they are not so small they can't be swallowed.

This system works well for a 140 lb male, and 2 80 lbs female pups.

Mike

I forgot to mention....
On sundays, I faste the dogs. Meaning, they don't get solid food, they get some yogurt and an egg, but nothing solid. It is good for their(and our) systems to have 1 day of nothing solid in order to use up and get rid of anything left over from the previous days. Plus, it helps in keeping them lean and fit, in working condition.
