chitterlins are not pig stomachs(tripe) but rather the intestines and contain a lot of fat. I personally would only use cow, sheep or goat stomachs if they can be found for a reasonable price. Unfortunately tripe is stinky and turns the stools grey but the dogs love it and it is good for them.

I was wondering if anyone has ever used stuff from company green tripe . I feed a 50/50 diet between raw and also feed solid gold wolf king alternating between on a daily basis.

I was checking out the green tripe site and it looks interesting and a great addition in barf diet. Was wondering if anyone else had used this..Might try it out after I look into the site more

site is www,greentripe.com

I have fed beef tripe but as Garry says the stink is terrible. And i mean terrible. The wife stated categorically no more LMAO. But it is good to get weight back on dogs very fast.

Green tripe is the awesome. It smells, it reeks but the nutritional value makes up for it. If your dogs will eat it, feed it outside. Keep it frozen and sealed in Ziploc baggies.

I have never fed pork tripe. If you are buying it at the grocery store and it is white - stay away from it. It has been cleaned and processed.

I find hearts and lungs to be MUCH more affordable (at least here, which granted IS in the center of the beef industry) and far less stinky. My supermarket will grind it up with sale steaks to make it easier to feed and as far as I am aware, the benefits are the same.

Maybe get the tripe ground into some other meat to cut the stink down? I have yet to test this method. The whole idea of stomachs-as-food kinda creeps me out to be honest.

I feed beef hearts and chicken parts, legs carcasses, thighs drummers etc etc

The beef heart is approx the same price as the tripe but i can get it 2 miles away whereas the tripe i must go about 25 miles away to get it and then back. The chicken parts i get or 1/4 the cost. Both dont stink so its easier to work with.

I forgot chicken gizzards, we feed those too. They actually sell them pre packaged here in 1lb trays in the grocery. They're nice too because you don't have to chop em up and they make very little mess.
