I dont agree with making a dog go hungry especially a pupppy it is better to give say half the back with the hamburger and see what happens. Dogs are like humans they need time to adjust to different habits. And old habits die hard. LOL
Yeah, Lynn I could never let her hungry! I guess she can live on backs for awhile. Maybe she will get tired of them. Cropping ears on Monday, the vet is keeping her until Wednesday. I will post pics afterwards... ---Pat--Mastino owner since 2007 !lol
I would let her get hungry. If you let HER dictate what the menu has in store at her young age you'll be in a right bit o trouble later!!!!!!!!!!!! _________________________ Nikki Agrippina Mastino
Yep, you do have to revert back to some of the same practices as with children. if you let a baby feed on demand your whole life becomes a slave to it! Children and animals understand and respect routine.

It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.
I give my dogs sometimes food they dont really want or are picky but I put down a lesser amount and if they dont eat it I put it away and give it a few hours later. That normally works for me.
I am so grateful for everyone's willingness to share their expertise on raw feeding. I've been thinking about it for over a year, ever since I had to switch Masi off of the Solid Gold dry food that Dr. Allen recommended (his stool was consistently way too runny). I felt much more confident after reading through the pages of the feeding forum as well as reading other sources. Still overwhelmed at how much there is to learn, but watching Masi eagerly devour his green tripe and raw chicken parts makes it feel completely worth it (we are on day 2). Will keep you posted--THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!
