Do any of you purchase vaccines from KV Vet Supply and if so have you ever had your pups get sick from them?

Does anybody know what happens when vaccines get warm or handled improperly in any way? I am told they go bad, but do they just turn to water and are basically useless or do the get stronger so that the pup takes on the full force of a live virus?

Warm temps more than likely kill the virus completely. Meaning they would be useless.

I have bought vaccs. from there before and they have been fine.
If they were delivered warm I would call and complain.

I have not used that particular company but order mine else where.

If at any time the vials get warm or mishandled the live virus is no longer viable. If the sterile solution becomes warm it is no longer sterile since bacteria grow in warm moist environments and heat kills the virus. They do not become stronger but instead ineffective. As far as getting sick, I have never had an allergic reaction, which is one of the most likely reactions. Nikki is right if you receive some that are warm then call.

make sure you are using the correct vaccine for the age of the pup...example you wouldnt want to use a 7in1 on a 6 week pup...or certain breeds cant handle lepto in the shot...sharpei are one breed that comes to mind....anytime ive had a adverse affect ive giivven them a cold bath... and then rubbed the hell out them in numerous towells for a good 20 minutes after the bath...mind you its only been 3 times over the last 40 yrs...but its always snapped them out of it...by IT i mean the wobbles and what appeared to be incoherent with a touch of fever

I didn't receive them warm, but who knows how they are handled prior to shippment.

This is the second litter of big fat gorgeous pups that, after vaccinating them have gotten very ill. Symptoms start 2 days after injecting them.

What age do you vaccinate?

My vets have done test after test and ran cultures etc... and everything comes up negative.
I am having a break down!!

I do my first vaccines at 6 weeks with a DA2PPV and an immune booster at 5 weeks.

sign up for the foster and smith catalog....its vaccine chart is pretty self explanatory....6 weeks is when i start too, i give a 5 in 1 to start
then
2 more 7in 1s every 2 and a half weeks after...so a total of 3 doses...sounds like a reaction to one or more of the ingredients...id look into weather or not the shots you used had leppto in them...and discontinue using the vacines which include lepto..

a little extra inf0...once youve started with one manufactures brand all shots must be followed by the same manufacture, or the whole series is null and void and must be begun again using all the same brand....lessons all learned the hard way in my case...no fatalities thank god

I have always vaccinated at 5 -6 weeks starting with a 5 way. I had never had an issue with pups getting sick from them until I started buying them from KV vet.

I am just dumb founded. I guess I am just grasping. Trying to find an explaination.

try the foster smith..its free with free shipping and i believe 4 different manufactures to choose from...ive always had next day service with them..you even get a live person option if you like to gab

FYI...i have heard of alot of vaccine recalls on chinese vaccines..maybe some of those slipped thru...id seriously consider starting the series over in your case..with a different brand

another FYI...its probably really hard to take anyone seriously... with the monikers phils shackled me with on my avatar and signature...but thats administrative perogative not mine
