Right from the start I have just always handled Sirus...I can wake him from a deep sleep without any startle. Leading the active lifestyle we lead I never know what will happen so I try to throw it all at them...Insurance for the futur

Another thing to consider...Having a fixed schedule is great, but I think you need to sometimes alter it around so that if something does happen and the schedule does need to change, you're not stcuk with a dog having a melt down...

no problem. was startling for our 9 yr old son as well when he woke our pup up. my wife and i stepped in quickly...yelled his name and beau (our pup) started wagging his tail again. so my family has actually seen it also. good luck with the book.

after the incident with our 9 yr old son, we made all the kids read in the book about the sleeping neo.
