I forgot to mention....
On sundays, I faste the dogs. Meaning, they don't get solid food, they get some yogurt and an egg, but nothing solid. It is good for their(and our) systems to have 1 day of nothing solid in order to use up and get rid of anything left over from the previous days. Plus, it helps in keeping them lean and fit, in working condition.
