I do feed All Natural Kibble, would never go back to anything else. Would love to switch to raw. Like Nikki said though with the raw diet the bones are a very important part of it.

If I could get recommendations on all supplements I should give my puppy I would be forever gratetful...To tell you the truth I feel much more confident feeding my adult dogs raw, but I think I will figure it out with a lot of help! If someone could give me a recommendation with my supply of food, I have beef hamburger, venison hamburger, beef chunks, and whole chickens...Maybe like a daily menu? I just need to be walked through a day.

Hey u two!
I have some samples and ideas here- http://agrippinamastino.com/health_and_diet.htm

Typically a pup here eats 4 times a day until about 8 weeks. Three times a day until about 16 weeks, then on to 2 times with a mid-day "snack". After a while they loose interest in the snack and I sort of let them tell me when it's time. Adults eat once or twice a day- just depends on the meal.

Mine do eat pork and beef. It's actually very good for them and they certainly can live chicken free, or on limited chicken!

Chicken does seem to spark allergies in some mastino- I am currently testing out not feeding one of mine chicken to see if her skin issues are allergy related.

This was posted earlier in the thread and I tend to agree
I feed twice a day due to the heat here as dogs are like humans if its too hot you tend to eat less and more frequent

Gauge her by her waist line. At about 14 weeks you need to start seeing a waist. A little porker is cute- but will cause a ton of problems later.

At 8 weeks they were eating one back 3 times per day. All raw foods should even out over the course of a week- so with different meat sources right off the bat you are doing great! Remember she needs to eat about 2 % of her ADULT body weight. Ask Anita what her mom weighs, that will be a good indicator for you.

Mine right now at 20 weeks are all eating 2 backs (or the equivalent of) two times per day. That could be one larger meal or a smaller meal- backs are not all the same weight. Try to give her more if she looks thin, less if she is porking up.

At 23 weeks another pup I have is getting 2 backs at his morning meal and three at night.

All get half of a peanut butter sandwich ( after about 12 weeks) with 1,000 mg Ester C and one 400 mg B-Complex.

Yes, bone meal from a feed store is OK.

Thanks Nikki--
Anita told me her mother weighs 160 and grandma weighs 180, I should be feeding about 3-4 pounds of food a day? Man that seems like a lot! So I won't worry about vitamins right now. I will try a chicken back tonight with her beef hamburger. The Purina large puppy food she was weaned onto was 26% protein and 13% fat and yet in Dr. Allen's book she seems to suggest high fat diet. I really appreciate all the help I am getting.

Update: She ate the chicken back with no issues...Good suggestion.

I introduced chicken backs to our puppy now she wants nothing to do with hamburger of any kind. Guess she doesn't like the texture, all this beef and venison and she decided poultry was her thing. Should I get her hungry and force her to the hamburger?
