Is it important to elevate a neos food?
And Water?
Why?
Is that what all the pros do?
Whos doing what?
This is something I did for a while but stopped doing and I wonder how important if at all is it to elevate the dishes?

I would not feed my dogs elevated unless they had medical issues bending down that far (arthritis, vertebral issues etc.) There are many risk factors for GDV, (none of the researchers can decide on them at any given point) but it has been shown, and I feel, elevating the meal increases the chance for GDV in the dog.

I elevate my dogs food dish about 9"-10" off the ground. It makes sense to elevate it off the ground. The dog does not have to stretch his neck to reach the food and the dog does not need to "crouch" down and put more stress on muscle and joints. You will notice the dog will eat more comfortable and will take their time eating. I do not think increases the change of GDV. In fact, I think it decreases the chance of GDV as the dog does not have to "scarf" down its food.

I cut a hole in bottom of old plastic milk crates, flip it over and drop their dish in hole, holds the dish steady and they seem to be comfortable with it, did it with my Danes too
