No, it is not dangerous to give a larger dose. You want to increase the dosage to the point of loose stools. If for instance you give 2500 a day he develops loose stools, back it down to 2000. I kept my male on 2000 a day and my female about the same.

Good luck.

Vitamin C is water soluble- meaning what his body doesn't use will just come out in his urine.

As Nikki wrote.... If the body does not absorb the Vitamin C then it is passed in the urine..... also loose stools are another sign.... that is how you know when you have reached the absorption level of the puppy/dog.....

Hello
I have a post on here from about a year ago named "having a hard time using his rear legs" that might be of help. Did your vet do a nuero test on your pup? My pup had a similiar problem with his rear leg kicking out and had xrays that came back clean as well. We thought maybe Wobblers or pano but those were ruled out as well. The nuero tests exibited a problem so we took him to a neurologist for a spinal tap, MRI and blood work that didnt give us a final answer but the vet did think he did have some kind of infection and the antibiotics helped. We also used Ester C and NUPRO for the joints to this day. He got better and is now doing great.
It is scary to see your little guy this way but hopefully everything works out.

Hi i know this might not be of interest but i got a book a few years back called Essential Facts of Physiotherapy in Dogs and Cats by Barbara Bockstahler, David Levine, Darryl Millis,,,,it has a dvd too, i got it from germany years ago, my neo had a leg problem and we went to a giant breed specialist in dundee an he recommended it to me, the only other option would be to fuse the bone, so we tryed hydrotherapy and this book and it actually worked, the book cost quite alot then i dont know if its so expensive now, if i can remember properly i had to pretend i was a vet to order it! great book though!
