My vet in the UK let me watch Zeta having her C-Sect. but i think on the whole most vets in the UK would not even consider even letting you watch......
Here in France ist is totally different, I assisted a C-sect last year on a friend's DDB, and I think it is generally expected that owners asist in some operations, as there do not seem to be veterinary assistants as such here.

The last c-section we did, it was only myself and the vet present. He always lets you assist during c-sections, and will even let you stay during an ear crop. Now my other vet I had her do her first two c-sections she had ever done. I assisted her throughout the operations. She was shocked how long we had to work on pups afterward, and lowered her anesthesia. She tells people I taught her how to do this. lol But then I even did a whelping in her office with her present, she was wanting to expand her general knowledge. She is one I trust above most.

When she has a new vet tech and they see me go in the back with my dogs for ex ray or surgery, they tell me because of OSHA I have to leave, the vet simply tells them, not Starr she is family and she is always aloud back. So I guess some are afraid of Osha when they don't let you back. But if you get a good relationship going with your vet, they will break the rules lol.
